Earth Day

We as part of North American society have so much, too much; too many toys, too much wealth, homes that are too big and wasteful of energy and resources, whereas in third world countries, people survive on a fraction of what we have. This photo was taken on the road from Addis Ababa to Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, and is typical of Ethiopian farming practices. Instead of being in school, children have to mind the livestock, thresh the grain with cattle, and gather straw to make haystacks, and at the end of the day, fetch water.
Before you buy yourself the next new 'toy', ask yourself do you really need it, how could I, instead, help someone with the money I'm about to spend who is not so well off.
Please contact me if you want to help my school renovation and supplies project in Bahir Dar.
