Today's photograph is the infamous Dune 45. It is located at a place called Sossevlei. The best time to climb the dune is either before sunrise or 45 minutes before sunset. It takes about 30 minutes to climb to the summit where you see fabulous views of the surrounding sandunes. The temperature during daytime can be 45 degC, and the sand, which contains a high content of iron -hence the red colour - will burn your feet.
